CABLING AND BRACING
When prescribing and assessing your tree for structural reinforcement techniques and practices, our team of certified arborists and qualified risk assessors will carefully consider the dynamics and outcome of what should be done.
This is typically done using a visual assessment and best arboricultural practices to make an accurate and clear determination for the best possible outcome, we pride ourselves to help educate our customers so they have a better understanding of what to expect.
Hardware and materials used
Tree cabling and bracing often use a few different systems, from a more rigid steel cable to help correct a wound/deficiency to prolong the life of a tree, to a more dynamic system that allows the tree to naturally oscillate in the wind. Common seven-strand cables have proven to be durable, strong, and resistant to the elements is our go to choice.
When to use a cable system
There are typically 3 major elements to using a cabling system:
1. Preventative - help mitigate and minimize the risk of failure.
2. Correction - allow the tree to naturally compartmentalize
3. Restoration - giving your tree a fighting chance to restore and stabilze
It should be noted that not all cable systems are 100% effective against failure, these are systems designed to prolong the life of a tree, please consult with one of our certified arborists.
